A hunter who’d shot a deer died after the deer attacked him, Game and Fish Commission officials said.
KY3 TV reports from Yellville on what Keith Stephens, communications chief for Game and Fish, said was one of the strangest events of his career.
Thomas Alexander, 66, shot a buck with a muzzleloader near Yellville. When he went to check the deer, it attacked and left puncture wounds in Alexander’s body.
He was able to call for help, but died at a hospital. Stephens said it was unclear if the death was due to puncture wounds or another cause, such as a heart attack.
