The U.S. House had a rare bipartisan vote yesterday, 339-71 for a resolution opposing the inclusion of Russia in Group Seven summits. For Arkansans watching at home: Only Republican Rep. Rick Crawford of Jonesboro sided with Russia’s inclusion.
That makes, in the words of one Twitter commentator, Crawford a Trump “dead-ender” along with the other 70 Republicans who backed Russia’s inclusion. Trump wants them back. Russia was disinvited after invading Ukraine and annexing Crimea.
The resolution says Russia should be excluded until it “respects the territorial integrity of its neighbors and adheres to the standards of democratic societies.”
