BRIAN GREER: Former CIA attorney and Arkansas native.

I know we’re deeply skeptical of CNN’s rightward shift toward some imagined middle ground in the fight for the preservation of democracy, but I still wanted to plug a smart appearance on the network last night from Brian Greer, a former CIA attorney.

Greer is a Eureka Springs native and Hendrix graduate. The Arkansas Times published a research project he’d done into the 1927 lynching of John Carter on 9th Street as a cover story in 2000.

Greer provides expert confirmation of what’s obvious to everyone but Trump loyalists: It was a really big deal for the ex-president to retain classified documents in an unsecured location and this is nothing remotely comparable to Hillary Clinton’s use of a private server while she was secretary of state. Greer, from his time at the CIA, had some knowledge of that investigation.
