Want to see a fish lure thousands of children and adults to an ice pond? Then be at Alltel Arena beginning April 20 when Disney on Ice presents “Finding Nemo,” a skatathon of the mega-popular movie of the same name.
The entire story is told, the sets offer the appearance of the underwater theme, and the costumes will awe, according to Disney on Ice choreographer Cindy Stuart.
“It plays itself out of the ice as close to the film as we could produce,” she said. “Our biggest challenge was creating choreography on the ice for these fish. It really worked out well because a natural component of a fish is to go out effortlessly as possible, and that really translated well on the ice.
“It’s a lot of fun.”
Tickets for opening night are $11. Regular ticket prices for the rest of the run are $16 and $21 through Ticketmaster outlets (most Harvest Foods stores, 975-7575 or www.ticketmaster.com) and at the arena box office.
Showtimes are 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, April 20-21; 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Friday, April 22; 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, April 23, and 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 24.
