Kerry James Marshall is an African-American artist whose 1995 painting “Our Town,” of black children in an idyllic Dick-and-Jane setting, has been acquired by Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art to open — someday — in Bentonville.

Inspired by a facebook post, we were watching videos on PBS’ Art: 21 site and came across this interview with Marshall about identifying as a black artist (rather than just an artist). The only problem with the video is it’s too short!
