*On Saturday, April 16, the Argenta Certified Arkansas Farmers Market opens at 6th and Main in downtown North Little Rock. It runs from 7 a.m. until noon.

*Ten days later, on Tuesday, April 26, the Little Rock Farmers’ Market opens in the River Market. This is the 37th season and organizers are celebrating by unveiling this slightly frightening looking new six-foot tall mascot, Dean the Bean. There’ll be music the first Tuesday and Saturday of the market. It’s open 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

*On Saturday, May 7, the new Hillcrest Farmers Market opens in the Pulaski Heights Baptist Church parking lot at 2200 Kavanaugh. An initiative of the church, the market has space for 30-40 vendors initially and will require them to sell all-local produce, meat or dairy items. It’s open, through September, 7 a.m. until noon.
