Glass sculpture by James Hayes at PRI.

Thanks to a gift from four individual donors, a glass sculpture by James Hayes now hangs in the atrium of the Psychiatric Research Institute of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

According to a press release, the sculpture is the artist’s largest colored-glass suspended sculpture in Arkansas. Hayes, of Pine Bluff, studied with the Pilchuck Glass School in Seattle, Wash., and his style is reminiscent of glass blown by Pilchuck founder Dale Chihuly

The sculpture was purchased for $21,600; donors raised $32,500 for its acquisition and installation.
