Jeff Koons, he of the inflatable bunnies and balloon dogs and, at Crystal Bridges Museum, a big gold heart, will give a lecture July 11 at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. You just don’t get any more famous in the art world than Jeff Koons. From Versailles (see below) to Bentonville!

Crystal Bridges bought Koons’ “Hanging Heart (Gold/Magenta),” which hangs in Eleven, the museum’s restaurant, directly from the artist, so maybe Alice W. and Jeff are pals. The lecture is at 7 p.m. You will need to sign up in advance to hear Koons because this event will be packed. A book-signing will follow; I have inquired which book Koons will be signing and will update when I get the information.

More CBM lecture news: Museum architect Moshe Safdie will give an outdoor talk on the design of the museum on June 25. The hour-long talk will start at 10 a.m .and will be tailored to students and persons interested in architecture and engineering. His evening talk is sold out. No registration is required.
