I’m headed to Nashville tomorrow morning and will be out of pocket for a few days, so here’s a quick round-up of some good Little Rock music released so far this week. It’s been a productive couple of days (also note the new stuff I posted Monday from BLACK PARTY and Pepperboy).

1. The Casual Pleasures – “Phony Eyes”

I don’t know much about these guys but they share some members with Ezra Lbs and Groovecluster, are playing at Pizza D’s in August, and just released this song, which is kinda great, all post-punk energy and Casio riffs.

2. Fresco Grey – “Perfectionist (B Side)”

Fresco Grey is one of the better beatmakers in the city, and his emergence as a good rapper is just another step in the Young Gods of America takeover. Here he talks about “Kill Bill” and “Aladdin” and Ask Jeeves and Mannie Fresh, and in stylish black & white.

3. Saeuce Millz  ft. Zo Brad – “Swag N My Bag”

Saeuce Millz has been on my radar since his song “Remain” a few months ago. This new track just appeared this afternoon but it’s pretty great too — just a real neurotic, oddly playful wall-of-sound.
