"Produce," watercolor by Delia Prather, one of 80 artists showing and selling at the Museum School Sale.

I try to never miss the Arkansas Arts Center’s Museum School Sale, if just to see the mass of humanity shopping there. There is more artwork at the sale than you can throw an easel at — photography, ceramics, paintings, etchings, jewelry, woodwork, stationery, drawings, printmaking, glass, fiber art — and people plumb fill the huge Clear Channel Metroplex, on Col. Glenn Road.

This year’s sale features work by 80 museum school instructors and their talented friends. If you’re a member  of the Arts Center (you can buy a membership at the door), you can go Friday night (6-9 p.m.), getting a jump on those in the Saturday crowd (9 am.-3 p.m.). On Saturday, may do your holiday shopping unhindered by your crumb snatchers, since you can send them to the Kids Activity Area for children ages 4 to 9 (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.).
