Tod “Switch” Swiechoski’s entry, “An Arkansas Gem,” is the winner of the sculpture competition for Fountain Fest, the Contemporaries group fundraiser Thursday at the Arkansas Arts Center. Swiechoski, who won a $1,000 prize for his design, installed the sculpture, which will be lit from the interior, today. The fountain, named for Carrie Remmel Dickinson, will flow directly under the diamond.

Fountain Fest runs 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.; tickets are $40. DJ Mike Poe will provide the music, David’s Burgers the food, Cupcakes on Kavanaugh dessert and Lost Forty and Stone’s Throw Brewery the suds. There will be a raffle for a $1,200 Louis Vuitton purse, if you go in for that kind of thing. 


The Contemporaries is an auxiliary group is open to ages 21-45; membership in the group, which includes tours and special events, is $30 (or $40 for a couple).
