Pulaski County Technical College opens its new Center for Humanities and Arts next Tuesday, Feb. 2, and follows that with a public reception for the exhibition, “Merging Form and Surface,” the first in the building’s new Windgate Gallery, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Feb. 3.

The exhibition, which includes wood sculpture by Robyn Horn and Sandra Sells, will show the different approaches the co-working artists take to the medium. The show will also include paintings by Horn.

The Windgate Foundation provided $1.5 million to Pulaski Tech to equip the new building, which is called CHARTS; the gift was the largest ever to the college. Windgate gives to a number of arts endeavors, including $20.3 million to UALR for its new visual arts building.

Horn, a native of Fort Smith who lives in Little Rock, is both fine artist, promoter of contemporary craft and philanthropist. Sell, who hails from New Hampshire, has worked as a studio assistant for Stoney Lamar and Brent Skidmore at Penland School of Craft, N.C.
