M2 Gallery opens an exhibit today of works by the state’s artist laureate, Evan Lindquist, famed for his calligraphic etchings, and emerging artist Steve Adair, who works in a variety of mediums. Lindquist was an art professor at Arkansas State University for 40 years and is now retired. His honors are many: He received the Lifetime Achievement Award of The Society of American Graphic Artists in 2010, the Arkansas Governor’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004, and the Emporia State University’s Distinguished Alumni Award, also in 2004.

Adair, who teaches K-8 students, is a graduate of ASU now living in Rogers; he has titled his show “Dapper.”
