March is not just what women do. It’s the month dedicated to them, and galleries are taking note. The Historic Arkansas Museum’s 2nd Friday reception (5-8 p.m.) opens “#5WomenArtists,” an answer to the National Museum of Women in the Arts’ social media challenge “Can you name five women artists?” HAM’s show features paintings by Martha Barber, Jenny Deloney, Elsie Freund and Nathalie Henry and weaving by contemporary Louise Halsey. Also at HAM: “Life in the Western Country,” celebrating the 200th anniversary of the creation of the Arkansas Territory with objects from the museum’s collection. Craft beers from Six Mile Brewery from Ozark will refresh.
