Greg Thompson, owner of Greg Thompson Fine Art at 429 Main St., announced today he will close the gallery but will continue to sell art as Greg Thompson Fine Art Inc. and Fine Art Investments LLC.

Thompson, who sells fine art by such Southern talents as William Dunlap, John Alexander, Pinkney Herbert, Sammy Peters, Glennray Tutor and Robyn Horn as well as noted American artists from outside the region, opened the gallery in 2009. Along with the new business announcement, Thompson announced a new artist on his roster: Ohio artist Leslie Shiels. He said he would be adding to his roster and continue the secondary market business.

Thompson will host a closing party from 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 17, Argenta’s Third Friday Art Walk.
