Fans of the Oyster Bar, at 3003 W. Markham St., may have already detected changes in the menu. We ran into new owner Chris Tanner there last week and got a look at the new menu to be introduced this week. Look for roasted jalapeno hummus and fresh blue crab cakes. King Crab with drawn butter. Fish tacos. Smoked salmon chowder, and smoked fish dip. A new wine list, and expanded beer offerings, including Guinness. Favorites still to be found: gumbo, red beans and rice, the po’boys, shrimp fried and grilled, fried okra …

The floor plan will change in upcoming months: Walls will come out and the kitchen/bar will be moved along the back wall of the restaurant, Tanner said. The bathrooms will be improved. The raw bar, where offices are now, will be the final addition.

Farther down the road, Tanner plans to add such items as beef filets, snapper, Bahamian shrimp and other salads, lobster rolls and tuna poké.
