Spike Lee, Ashlie Atkinson and the cast of "BlacKkKlansman"

The Arkansas Cinema Society is bringing Little Rock native Ashlie Atkinson to the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts for a screening of “BlacKkKlansman” on Saturday, June 24. Also known for her appearances in “Mr. Robot” and “Juanita,” Atkinson starred in the 2018 Spike Lee film as Connie Kendrickson, the quietly enabling wife of a ’70s Ku Klux Klan member whose local chapter is being infiltrated by the Colorado Springs Police Department.

In a press release for the event, Atkinson shared her excitement about returning to Little Rock: “The stage at AMFA (when it was the Arkansas Arts Center) was the first professional stage I ever performed on, and to come back to it makes me feel like I’m coming home.”

The screening, held in the AMFA’s Performing Arts Theater at 6:30 p.m., will be followed by a Q&A with Atkinson. Tickets are $15 and are available on the ACS website.
