The ADC statement came in response to yesterday's announcement that the U.S. Department of Justice plans to investigate allegations of sexual abuse and harassment by multiple staff members at McPherson.

Justice Department launches investigation into alleged sexual abuse at women's prison in Newport

The U.S. Department of Justice announced today that they are launching an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse, sexual harassment by what the DOJ terms "multiple members" of the staff at the Arkansas Department of Correction's McPherson Womens Unit in Newport. The investigation will also reportedly look into the treatment of transgender prisoners there.
