Arkansas executed more people than all but one other state
Twenty-three people were executed last year, the second-lowest number since 1991, according to a new report from the Death Penalty Information Center. Yet Arkansas — after its internationally covered decision to attempt to kill 8 inmates in 11 days with a series of four double executions — bucked that trend. The state successfully killed four men of the eight men in April.
