Central Arkansas native Kel’el Ware was selected by the Miami Heat with the No. 15 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft Wednesday night.

New Arkansas Razorbacks basketball coach John Calipari has found his new digs, a $2.2 million mansion in a gated community in the Clear Creek neighborhood.

In front of an estimated 7,000 fans, the new Hog head man was talkative, reflective and charming, describing himself as a “gatherer.” Bringing fans, a staff, and a team together, he said, is his specialty.

This hiring decision, embraced or snubbed by fans, is the most impactful one made by the Arkansas athletic department in almost 40 years.

Calipari will be formally introduced at Bud Walton Arena tonight at 6 p.m.

John Calipari, the offbrand-Pitino recruiting whiz who racked up more than 400 wins, four Final Four appearances and a national title during his 15-year stint as the basketball coach for the University of Kentucky Wildcats, publicly announced his resignation today.

Less than two weeks after University of Arkansas athletic director Hunter Yurachek tweeted a video of himself boarding the “Muss Bus,”  he’s finalizing a deal to make longtime Kentucky coach John Calipari the next coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks men’s basketball team.
