The Arkansas Arts Center’s
61st annual juried show of work by regional artists features 50 works by 33 Arkansans and 15 others from the Delta region, including John Alhen, Joshua Asante, Carrie Ballinger Porter, Zachary Blair, Kim Brecklein, Debra Callahan, Olevia Caston, Karen DeJarnette, Virmarie DePoyster, Scinthya Edwards, DebiLynn Fendley, Brian Frazier, Janet Goodyear, John Green, Alice Guffey Miller, Heather Christine Guenard, Carol Hart, Jason McCann, Keith Melton, Danielle Napolitano, Mark Payne, Rashawn Penister, Yelena Petroukhina, Jason Rankin, Ray Scott, Sandra Sell, Laura Terry, Holly Tilley, Mabry Turner, Michael Warrick, Lauren Welshans, Nancy Wilson
and Emily Wood.
The $2,500 grand award went to Turner (Little Rock) for “American Made: Greed, Lust & Lost Love.” $750 Delta Awards went to Edwards (Helena) for “Birds of a Feather …” and Guenard (Cabot) for “LV-426.” The $250 Contemporaries Award went to Warrick (Little Rock) for “Youth.” Honorable mentions went to Darling (Memphis) for “Obscurity Often Brings Safety,” Eakin (Seattle, Wash.) for “Portrait in Precipitate II,” Lewis (Tulsa, Okla.) for “Head,” Payne (Pine Bluff) for “Denial,” and Sell (Little Rock) for “Wood Line.” Artist Kevin Cole of Atlanta, a native of Arkansas, was juror.
